Tandem paragliding over the Benasque Valley. Pyrenees
In the Castejón de Sos area, tandem paragliding flights are a fascinating experience, even for the youngest children. It's common for kids to be eager to fly, like this 3-year-old, as seen in the video.
To ensure their safety and comfort, flights with children take place early in the morning when conditions are optimal, as thermal turbulence often appears with the heat of the sun from midday onwards. Children enjoy the experience without fears or phobias, allowing them to fully experience the moment, and many of them want to repeat the adventure the following year.

What is a tandem paraglider?
A tandem paraglider is a type of paraglider designed to carry two people at once: a pilot and a passenger. It's like an aerial adventure for two, where you can feel the adrenaline rush while enjoying spectacular views.
The idea is that the pilot controls everything, so you just enjoy the flight.
It's perfect for those who want to try this experience without having to learn to fly on their own.
Imagine floating through the skies, feeling the wind on your face and excitement in your stomach!
How many types of two-seater paragliders are there?
When we talk about tandem paragliders, there are several types you can try.
Two-seaters on foot, it's the classic flight, ideal for enjoying the view while floating in the air.
Takeoff and landing are accomplished with a short run by the instructor and the passenger.
To reach the launch site, we will ascend for 40 minutes along an unpaved runway until we reach an altitude of over 2000 meters.
Speedtandems: If you're a snow lover, there are adaptations for skiing where you can glide and take off from a snowy slope. It's called a Speedtandem.
For takeoff, we went up on the chairlift from the Cerler ski resort, for which the passenger will need to have their own ski pass.
A paratrike is a three-wheeled, motorized tricycle that allows takeoff from almost anywhere or on any suitable terrain without physical effort.
Suitable for people with reduced mobility.
Perfect if you're looking for adventure without depending on the wind!
So now you know: there are options for all tastes. Let's fly!
What does a passenger need to know to fly in a tandem paraglider?
First, it's important to choose a reputable paragliding company; safety is key!
Before takeoff, listen carefully to the pilot's instructions.
You'll need to wear a harness and follow the instructions to ensure everything is properly adjusted. Dress comfortably and, if possible, bring a light jacket, as it can be a bit chilly in the air.
Finally, get ready to enjoy the view and the feeling of freedom; it will be unforgettable!
What do I need to bring to fly as a passenger in a tandem paraglider?
1. **Clothing**: Opt for light but warm clothing. A long-sleeved shirt and a fleece are great. Wear comfortable pants, such as joggers or hiking pants.
In winter, it's best to wear three insulating layers and a windproof jacket.
2. **Sunglasses**: Sunglasses are essential. Look for a pair that fits well so they don't fall off during the flight.
3. **Gloves**: Lightweight gloves will help keep your hands warm without sacrificing mobility.
4. **Shoes**: Bring hiking boots or athletic shoes with good grip. Avoid sandals!
5. **Jacket**: A windproof or waterproof jacket is ideal, as the weather can change.
Get ready for an amazing experience in the air! 🌤️✈️
What is a two-seater paraglider, Speedtandem?
The Speedtandem is a type of paraglider specially designed to fly with two people on skis, making it perfect for those looking to share the experience of free flight in winter.
Unlike conventional paragliders, the Speedtandem has a more robust design and a smaller surface area to ensure stability and allow skiing during the descent.
This type of paraglider allows an experienced pilot to carry a passenger, whose requirement is to have an intermediate level of skiing (reds).
It is ideal for enjoying breathtaking views and feeling the adrenaline rush of speed that this small paraglider allows you to reach while flying close to the terrain.
So if you ever feel like flying in winter, with the Speedtandem you'll feel like you're floating on your skis!
What is a two-seater paratrike flight?
Tandem paratrike flights are an exciting experience designed so you can enjoy paragliding without any prior knowledge.
This type of flight is carried out in a light three-wheeled vehicle, which combines a paraglider and an engine, allowing the pilot and passenger to take off and land without needing to run.
The idea is that the experienced pilot drives the trike while you relax and enjoy the scenery from above, in a comfortable seat.
It is ideal for not depending on the wind, and being able to take off from any place or field available.
Getting on a paratrike might be just what you need!
Are you up for taking a spin around the sky?
Can a person with reduced mobility fly?
Of course!
Flying in a paratrike is an incredible experience and, although it may seem complicated, people with reduced mobility can enjoy this adventure.
In the paratrike we take off and land on wheels, powered by an engine.
The great thing is that they are designed to be accessible.
Many companies offer services specifically adapted for people with reduced mobility.
This includes seats and safety equipment that facilitate flying.
Before flying, it's advisable to speak with the instructors to ensure all your needs are met. They will guide you through the entire process and make sure you feel comfortable and safe.
So, if you're longing to experience the sensation of flying, don't hesitate to try it! The experience of floating above the landscape is simply unforgettable. 🌤️✈️
How long does a tandem paragliding descent last?
It depends on the flight booked.
The Standard flight lasts approximately 20 minutes, which is the time it takes to descend from takeoff to landing.
The Premium flight has an approximate duration of 40 minutes.
On this flight, we are looking for rising thermals to get better views of the Pyrenees.
Which would you choose?
What is the maximum weight limit for a passenger to fly in a two-seater aircraft?
The maximum passenger weight depends on the size of the paraglider.
A two-seater vehicle is approved for the following weight ranges; these will vary depending on the model or brand:
Size 37, weight range 90-190 kg
Size 40, weight range 90-220 kg
Size 42, weight range 120-240 kg
This range would be the sum of the total weights in flight, for example:
Two-seater paragliding equipment = 20kg
Instructor = 80kg
Passenger = 80 kg
On average, the normal passenger weight would reach up to 100kg, but with a larger size of paraglider and a lightweight instructor, they could fly with a passenger of 120kg.
