Paragliding Progression
The progression course is aimed at students who have previously completed the introductory course.
Looking forward to continuing to evolve?
If you've already taken the first course with us, we'll get to know you and it will be easier to polish the areas we need.
If you've already made progress and haven't flown in a long time, this is the safe way to regain your level. You won't lose any course days; we'll quickly pick up where you left off in previous years.
In Castejón de Sos
The sessions take place in Castejón de Sos, a privileged location due to its excellent aerology and infrastructure.
In the progression course we will begin on the slope school.
It's not going backwards, it's evolving towards more precise techniques to make your takeoffs and landings safer and more automatic.
Furthermore, at this level students do not usually have their own equipment, and we need to know the one assigned before the actual flights.
Programming, objectives and content
We'll start on the training slope, and if the weather allows, we'll do some flat-ground practice to understand the movement of the paraglider on its three axes.
Goals
To be completely autonomous at the end of the course.
To be able to descend safely using some descent maneuver.
Experience thermal and thermodynamic flight.
Content
Course Development
Basic concepts of how thermal systems work.
Differences between valley breezes and meteorological wind.
Turns at minimum and maximum speed.
Different approach to the local approach practiced in initiation.
Practice
Pending school internships
First days of adaptation to the assigned equipment and a correct technique in takeoff, flight and landing.
Internships
Practice of the first descent maneuvers.
First contact with thermal flying at mild hours.
Thermodynamic flight on slope.
Autonomous landing and takeoff.
Includes
Flights focused on quality, not quantity.
Takeoffs in different areas.
Five days of effective training. Flights at different altitudes.
Theory and video correction
Theoretical classes
Utilization of thermal or dynamic energy.
Evaluate the conditions, possibilities, and risks.
Utilizing instruments in flight.
Explanation of the rapid descent maneuver “B-bands”, centrifugal drills, soft.
How and when to deploy your emergency parachute.
How to improve planning.
Choosing the flight zone.
Video correction
As an indirect and complementary aid to the theoretical classes, we try to record most of your course, mainly in case we need to correct any gestures; it's better to see yourself from the outside.

Have fun, we'll make sure you learn and improve safely!
This time, we're starting the course on the slope training area, where we'll review the basic techniques and practice new movements to help you feel more confident and comfortable. Because on the slope training area, you never stop learning; there's always something new to discover.
Then we move on to flights, both short and long, designing specific exercises for each one. This way, little by little, you gain confidence and control at each stage.
And to top it all off, with some well-executed aerodynamics, we finished with some long flights. Best of all: happy faces and a strong desire to keep flying and improving!
The important thing here is that you enjoy yourself, while we support you to evolve safely.
Let's go for more!
